Public Affairs Professional Curt Cashour

A public affairs professional based in Alexandria, VA, Curt Cashour has more than 15 years of experience working for members of Congress, presidential candidates, and military figures.

Cashour served as deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he oversaw a team of nearly 350 public affairs staff members at hundreds of VA facilities across the country. During his tenure at VA, Cashour led the ChooseVA marketing campaign, which resulted in nearly 40,000 new sign-ups for VA email updates.

Cashour spent several years as communications director for the U.S. House of Representatives’ House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Playing a key role in securing congressional support for numerous veterans bills, he developed positive relationships with journalists and routinely secured coverage and placed op-eds in major media publications.

He also served as chief spokesperson in Virginia for the 2012 Mitt Romney presidential campaign.

Mr. Cashour earned a bachelor of science in interpersonal communication from Ohio University. An Iraq War veteran, he received the Combat Action Badge and Bronze Star Medal for his service.
